The Oakridge Condominium community was built in the 1980s and is located in the 2500 block of LaVista Road. It is approximately one mile east of Clairmont Road and three miles west of Interstate 285. It is bounded on the east by Richard Stokes Drive, on the south by Nelms Drive and on the west by LaVista Drive. The condos are situated on approximately 13 acres and are carefully placed to protect the privacy of residents. There are 116 units in ten buildings.
Each condo has a patio/porch with views of the surrounding trees. Condos consist of two-, three- and a few four-bedroom units. All three- and four-bedroom units are located on the second and third floors and most of the two-bedroom units are located on the first floor.
Amenities
There are 32 carports which were assigned to units at the time the condos were built. Each condo has close access to open parking areas and is allocated two parking spaces near their front door, with additional guest parking at the pool/mailhouse.
Unlike many newer developments, the complex was built while maintaining many mature trees, providing privacy, quiet and pleasant views. The beautiful swimming pool is nestled in the center of the complex, which residents enjoy from May 1st through September 30th. There is also a large grassy park area within the complex that is ideal for pets and children.
Neighborhood and Schools
The community is zoned for excellent public schools: Oak Grove Elementary, Henderson Middle and Lakeside High School. Arbor Montessori School (pre-K through middle) is directly across Lavista Rd. from the community, and the Cliff Valley School (pre-K through elementary) is less than 2 miles away. Emory University and Hospital as well as the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are a 10-15 minute drive, and Midtown Atlanta is 15-25 minutes via I-85.
